The Swede is releasing her fourth studio album these days - and anyone who knows and loves Lykke Li knows that she does not rest on old successes. Although you can hear in each song on "So Sad So Sexy" that she could pull a hit à la "I Follow Rivers" out of the sleeve again anytime, but her ten new songs want more. Production-wise they’re state of the art (or even one year ahead), they show themselves as courageous bastards of pop, R&B and indie. Lykke Li sings about love, sex, utopias and grief – superficially speaking just catchy, but with lyrics that sometimes are not just a proverbial explosive force. For example in the wonderful ballad "Utopia" she sings: „If there ́s a bomb in your heart I ́ll disarm it. If you want it then I want it. We could be utopia, utopia.“
Her German fans will have to wait a little, but we are very happy that the wish to see Lykke Li live in our country does not have to remain a utopia: On the 8th of November she’ll play in Berlin at Astra.
