The Dutch-Iranian artist Sevdaliza is much more than one could squeeze into the word "musician". Her videos blur the borders between digital art and classical clip. Her live shows are concert, performance and sometimes a little bit of a fashion show. Her sound builds bridges between British trip-hop, Iranian vibes and the great contemporary American pop singers.
Her album "The Calling" from 2018 sounded quite electronic-futuristic, the singles "Darkest Hours" and "Martyr" published in 2019 in turn rely more on the pure power of her insane voice and are altogether more organically instrumented. Will this be her new direction for a later album? One can be curious. In May 2020 you have the chance to experience Sevdaliza live in Berlin again.
