It’s hard to put into words or to label for that matter the music of Deathprod. The Osloite composer and producer’s music is somewhere between minimal, ambient and noise. But when you read this you still don’t know how it feels when a song like „Muses-C“ slowly gets into your brain. Or the roaring and groaning of „Dead People’s Things“ gets under your skin. Helge Sten has been working on this project
since the early nineties already and in the meantime he used his home space to work as a producer for acts like Motorpsycho and Jenny Hval on old and obscure synths and samplers – a soundarmada he calls „Audio Virus“ and he uses it to slowly injects his beautiful Deathprod tracks with it.
You rarely get a chance to see him play live but October 24 another chance will come your way. When he plays at the one venue in Berlin that can showcase his art properly at Berghain.
