Eventhough the name would suggest a glamorous femme fatale that wears a gown and hovers over the turntables with perfectly manicured hands and casually shakes this stylish sound cocktail off her shimmering bracelet. But in reality L’Imperatrice is a band of six that plays actual instruments but the young French band would most likely love that image. Because on the one hand you can label their disco plus something French sound that is reminiscent of Daft Punk as very stylish on the other they’re big fans of cinema or inner cinema. The band themselves named LCD Soundsystem, Daft Punk and the French film composer as their influences. The ones that listened to their most recent songs “Matahari”, “Geisha” or “Vacances” will surely agree. The band has not been that present in Germany but they’ll play their first two headline shows in the end of May.
