In case you’ve seen Mr. E and his band more than once you know that at a Eels show anything can happen. In the past years they played wearing fake beards, baseball caps and adidas tracksuits while playing all their songs in double tempo. On other occasions they had a stylish set with strings and Mr E read parts of his biography and in between they played their personal best of set. Yet there were some shows when they would just be the almost regular extraordinary band with songs that seem to be every few months in soundtracks to american motion pictures, simply because they’re that good, timeless, melodic and deep.
Now mastermind Mr. E has finished working on record #12, which is to be released April 6th and goes by the name „The Deconstruction“. It’s filled with 15 songs that he recorded with his companions Koool G Murder and P-Boo as well as „The Deconstruction Orchestra & Choir“. Unfortunately we’ll have to wait a little longer for the first songs but Mr. E said the following about the new songs: Here are 15 new EELS tracks that may or may not inspire, rock, or not rock you. The world is going nuts. But if you look for it, there is still great beauty to be found.“ Just a few weeks after the release Eels will play these new songs live - and we’re certain that if they’re supposed to rock, then they will.
